RICARDO RUZ M.D., M.SC., FRCSC, RPVI
Dr. Ricardo Ruz obtained his medical degree at the University of Montreal before pursuing his specialty in vascular surgery at the University of Western Ontario and his fellowship in advanced endovasular surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic. He has been a vascular surgeon at l’hôpital Cité-de-la-Santé since 2014 and is currently Chief of the Vascular Surgery Department at the hospital. During his training, he developed an expertise in endovenous ablation by laser or radio frequency technique, in addition to the classical technique by tringlage.
After his accreditation in RPVI (Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation) and his training at the Toronto General Hospital, he earned his position as the Chief of Vascular Laboratory at the CISSS-Laval. Part of his training, in complex aortic surgery, was completed in London, England, at the St-Mary’s Hospital – Imperial College. At the Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio, USA, he completed a part of his fellowship in advanced endovascular surgery, where he developed skills in minimally invasive treatment of aortic and venous treatments.
As of 2018, Dr. Ruz became a part of the vascular surgery team at CHUM, where he offers his expertise in complex endovascular surgeries.
