PROCEDURE DETAILS

Most filler sessions take approximately 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.

Results are typically achieved in one session. Maintenance treatments may be recommended every 6 to 18 months, depending on the product used and the treatment area.

Most fillers contain a built-in anesthetic (lidocaine) to reduce discomfort. Patients typically feel a light pinch or pressure during the injection, but describe the sensation as very tolerable. A topical numbing agent may also be used on delicate areas, such as the lips.

Minor swelling or bruising may occur and usually subsides within a few days. Patients can resume normal activities immediately, but should avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for 24 hours.
